Synopsis: A historical drama that deals with the second and third periods of the Goryeo-Khitan War. King Hyeonjong of Goryeo and his political teacher, Commander-in-Chief Gang Gam Chan, unite the people of Goryeo and lead a war against Khitan.

    Honestly, the main reason I started watching this show was that It all seemed very realistic and reasonable, However the last few episodes kept disappointing me! how is it that the show is trying to justify that father and daughter?! It doesn’t make any sense. It’s true that her father commited high treason when others where sacrificing their lives in war and he just sat at home and made sure everyone around him was safe. I don’t really understand the show’s excuses to clear him because everything seems to be based on history events and the father was a traitor so is her daughter. It’s true that she wantes to sleep with the king just for greed to get herself and her father a good position in the palace which she eventually did. I really pity the queen she was doing the right thing, people deserve to know what he did , however she got a bit emotional and rushed everything and It turned out the opposite. I’m giving up on the show since It’s trying to force the kings irresponsible and childish acts as a heroic behaviour on the audience!

  6. best histiorical drama, deserve an award for the cast for the leading actors. cant wait the next episodes. this is the only historical kdrama i watched with long episodes but really worth of watching, I am so entertained.

  12. Great, I can never get enough stories about Goryeo. One of the most intriguing times of Korea. I hope it’s a many episode Sageuk. I can think of a few right off hand like Scarlet Heart Ryeo and River Where The Moon Rises which not very historically correct my favorite was God of War with Kim Ju Hyeok who unfortunately passed away from a car accident a few years after that drama. There’s been quite few dramas about Gogureyo, Silla, Baekje, Balhae and one very good one about Gaya called “Kim Soo Ro”. Goryeo seems to pique my interests though.

    Oh, I just remembered one about Goryeo which was very good with Jang Hyuk. It began right at the end of the later Three Kingdoms era when Goryeo was just beginning, it’s called “Shine or Go Crazy”. I hope this one is more historical than some of the others I mentioned.

After watching episode 1&2 I just fell in love with this wonderful drama but the queen mother is really crazy and nonsensical, I hope her country is not destroyed because of her greed and the love btn the two brothers (the king and his half brother) is unique I just hope they will still be able to defeat the queen and her evil scheme.

  23. I love everything about Goryeo. Yes after Jumong I watch all dramas that has a link to Goryeo. I even printed Goryeo map and study it like taking an exam.
