Island Nation: Hoping (2023)

In 2003, doctors Chen Yui Mei and Lo Shi Kai are faced with a difficult task of helping abandoned medical workers and patients when the SARS epidemic explodes in Taiwan. The Taipei city government quarantines Bo Ai Hospital without warning, trapping medical workers, patients and their families inside, and treating any contacts as source of infection. Chen Yui Mei leads her colleagues in a desperate attempt to fight against the ruthless government, while Lo Shi Kai must navigate between politics, medical ethics, and media to ensure everyone is able to survive and return home safely.
