Synopsis: Sim Jung Woo is an intelligent and handsome young man. He was the youngest to place first in the state examination, but he was picked to become the princess’ husband. During their wedding ceremony, the princess suddenly died. Sim Jung Woo’s life changed and he became the most unfortunate man. According to the Joseon period custom, he is not able to take the government post and he can’t remarry. He then becomes involved with Jung Soon Deok.
Jung Soon Deok is a widow whose late husband was the second son of the first vice-premier. She secretly leads another life under the pseudonym of Yeo Joo Daek. As Yeo Joo Daek, she works as a matchmaker and also peddler of women’s items like cosmetics and accessories. She is the best matchmaker in the capital city of Hanyang. Sim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok become involved with each other and they try to get older single men and women to marry as matchmakers.

  1. In the middle of ep 9. I just can’t bear this anymore lol
    Somewhat unengaging. I find myself pausing and coming back another time sometimes even fast forwarding.

    The comedy in this was ridiculous, almost like a bad parody. The chemistry between leads was inexistent, very cringey. I’m only watching because of the 3 sisters at this point.

    Ro woon’s character was odd – first in state exam, very intellegent, good strategist but acts so childish, throws tantrums and pouts like a 3 year old ?

    FL’s character was supposed to be a little dumb but acts so mature and so put together it actully looks like she was the brain and the strategist here.

    6.5/10 for the sisters and FL

  4. It was a great drama!

    The main couple was great! I love how they went from grieving their late spouse to find a new love, to accept it and then embrass it. It was a restraint love story but it was a beautiful one. Not every romance must be sexy. The importance is a meaningful one.

    I love the other love stories too.

    This drama has one of the best villain! Very well written not black or white, but grey.

    The King was awsome! It’s nice to see an intelligent, lovely and charismatic King and not a puppet.

    The actors were great.

    Rowoon did really well in this role and deserves all the praising by the specialits!

  5. There is not a lot of chemistry between Rowon n the FL especially apparent in the last few episodes. She is just too short for him. Totally incompatible. The producers needs to find a better matching actress. I am not impressed with the FL acting. What a pity.

  6. the only thing I love about this drama is the three spinster’s stories but aside from that everything was just so blunt the Main leads had no chemistry and their stories were so unnecessary. I get the ML story and character but the FL was just not needed. I felt the plot would have been better without the FL character and storyline as I find her part annoying. Maybe if the Main leads roles were reversed it would have made more sense to me. I kept looking forward to the 2nd daughter amongst the spinster and her chosen partner their encounters is so satisfying to me. I tagged her my favorite. I wish someone will take the three spinsters stories and develop it into a mob=vie or drama as it would make a hit.

  7. It is one the best, funniest and well-paced shows currently airing. Other than the laughs, it is very well written with many mysteries, back-stories and palace politics. I love a show when the supporting characters are also paid attention to, given a good number of scenes and are actually supporting the story. The drama has perfect casting and everyone is doing a great job including ML and FL. I cant wait for the Mondays.

  13. Great.. now that I had decided to watch a drama from early on (normaly I wait till they are completed so I can marathon them) it turns out to be a drama that knew how to poke my interest from the very first episode.
    I’ve fallen slave again to having to wait a week between every two episodes :'(
    Unless I forget about it and continue watching after it is completed..

  15. Can’t speak for anyone else but I LOVVVEEEE HISTORICAL/PERIOD DRAMAS! I always search for them over Time Travel,Wuxi, Fairy etc. Anything with a Palace I’m all in. I’ve watched most of them so I’m excited about this.

  16. I hope we get a kdrama like Mr. Queen. Its been so long since we got an out and out comedy kdrama. I know the actors in this drama are rookie compared to Mr. Queen, but again, a well made consistent kdrama is what we need rn. Both the actors have great comedic timing (as shown in the previews and trailers). I hope the screenplay and direction doesnt disappoint. There is no other better way than having a good light hearted kdrama to end this year.

  18. This show is for young people who like immature shows like this. Talk about a waste of an hour of my life. Obviously it was geared towards them by the corny acting. They most likely put more time with creating the historical setting then they did writing the story and acting.

  32. Is Rowoon going to the military soon? Coz usually actors do this back-to-back drama (or movies) and idols releases a solo album or a song.
    Whatever it is I like that I’m not going to miss much of Rowoon since Destined With You just finished…The Matchmakers will soon air! Plus the treat is…we get to see Rowoon in hanbok and saguk again!

Okay,what?nevermind,i don’t like period k-dramas,the script is good and all and good actors but the decor,preps,are very poor,like for example the whole villages or city’s from that time is barely a few extras dressed up in rags,the luxurious royal palace is barely some bigger house,contrary to chinese dramas that have a very rich decor but very bad scripts,acting etc
