The literal SHOCK I had when I saw they were adapting this manga into a live action. This was a hell of a read and the crazy art style just made it wilder.
At first I was very surprised by the casting choice for Mishima as I would have expected a tiny more wispy actor for the character, but watching the episode oddly enough it works.
Definitely interested to see if they can capture the mood and essence of the original. If they can… whoooo boy, be prepared!
When he looked in the mirror and was like ‘I am more prettier than all this other bitches’. I was like ‘YES YOU BLOODY ARE’.

When the camera settled on Mishima, I was transfixed. His passivity is not one of submission or surrender, but of serenity and subversion. He has already accepted himself — not that he needed to — and loves himself. He needs no other shield. The bullies have nothing on him. I loved it.
Kirino seems like the classic closeted bully at first sight, even if he doesn’t seem to be written that way so far.
And yes, I will certainly come back to this next week.
There isn’t a bl tag and I don’t think there is going to be any romance but the lead here is a cross-dresser and there’s a LGBTQ tag on MDL. You can check this out and see if you like it. I personally found the 1st episode intriguing.
So Japan can actually cast their China/Korea type handsome guys in effeminate roles? No more emaciated-looking actors doing these roles? Good move.

– PERIOD. I love the confidence Mishima had after putting on the lipstick.🥰
16:44: I was about to cuss the creators and Kirino out for joining in on cutting their hair no way there might be a romance or friendship between them afterwards. But seems he’s a future hairstylist in the making.
17:54: No freaking way I thought Mishima was having a daydream about Kirino but it was about the gym teacher 😭 I’m crying!!!! to each their own. All these misdirects are getting me
Not bad I liked this episode. I’ll be seeing where it goes.
