Synopsis: “Chang Feng Du” follows the journey of Liu Yu Ru, the daughter of a merchant who dreams of escaping her unhappy family life. Despite her difficult circumstances, she dedicates herself to becoming the perfect wife and daughter-in-law in hopes of finding a good husband. Her efforts seem to pay off when she marries the wealthy Gu Jiu Si, but she soon discovers that her husband sees her as a gold-digger and would rather spend his time in brothels than with her.

Realizing she cannot rely on others, Yu Ru takes control of her own destiny and learns business skills from her mother-in-law. Through her perseverance, she earns her place in the family and even manages to change her husband from a drunken playboy into a brave and honest man.
