I watched the first 2 episodes one after the other … the apparent sentience of Ever 9, which seems over and above the data and AI algorithms it has been programmed with, had me thinking of Isaac Asimov who was a giant in science fiction writing (his “Foundation” series is an epic read). The similarities are fine by me as Asimov was an awesome story teller (died in 1992) … I hope this series does justice to the theme.

    I wasn’t a fan of the typical BL tropes … milk on lips etc which just now annoys me as I think they are put in to compensate for poor writing … but anyway I was happily surprised by some thought provoking ‘thoughts’ by Yi Ping 🤔:

    At that moment I got it. Everything yearns for acknowledgement. Since they exist, they don’t want to be erased … After experiencing many disappointments people tend to not look forward to the variables of this world anymore.

    🤔🤔 … not sure but I wondered quite a few times about the corgi dog … did they transplant the dog’s neural patterns into an AI architecture some how … 🤔 … made me wonder what all my doggo’s would be like in human form and with human speech 🤣 …

  6. Okay this show is super strange. I mean the robot is way too human, which I think is the point, i think they are trying to do an I’m not A Robot moment. Which if they do an I’m Not A Robot plotline its going to be bleh. But on the other side, thinking of it from the human professors perspective… Uhhh dude why you equating the reobot to reminding you of your dog that you loved dearly. But then also thinking of him boinking your brains out? What kinda feelings did you have for your dog? The storytelling through imagery backstory so far is very odd. Like the director and studio managers didn’t know what stuff to cut and what stuff to save for the story to make sense. Cause the message that is coming out, I’m not sure this is what they intended. hahahaha

    If this story continues this kind of flow, I will rank this series next to Stay by My Side (or might ranked first depending on the flow of the story)… Followed by “You Are Mine” and “VIP Only”

    The actor whose role is Chu Yi Ping have a resemblance (to his some scenes) to the main lead of “Kiseki: Dear to Me”… Ow, I missed that couple… There is also height difference.

  8. Don’t tell me the AI is the damn dog. 😅😂
    It seems the AI was tailored to him after all. He has a lot of similar (ego) and complimentary traits to mesh well with the professor’s traits.
    Although he said he’s not a sex robot, it looks like the Uncle tailored him to be a lover/companion with the built-in instinctive love (and memories?) of his last companion, his pet dog.
    I think the robot being far too ‘human’ is intentional. He is either an advanced AI that can simulate humanness or he’s a hybrid as others have said.

    EDIT: I’ve watched the UK series – Being Human, and I’m intrigued to see if his parts work 👀 like in that series.

    Yi Ping is already having wild fanfic fantasies up in his pretty little head about Ever9. I mean can we blame him? That cutie in his usual lonely home, and acting all homie and kissing him to form a bond. He cleans, he cooks, he speaks up his mind, a total package. Then again Ever9 acts too human like to be a robot, and seems a bit cyborg for a human 🤨 Curious to see where this will lead for both. Oh boy, Yi Ping will be cuddled to sleep in the next sleep huh 😏

Even though Ever 9 is a highly intelligent AI robot, he is behaving too human in terms of curiosity, emotion and reaction that it is too unbelievable 🤔😅 And it is interesting that he has high ego too e.g. believing that he is special and different from others. Anyway, he is so sweet and cute. It is impossible not to fall in love with him.

    I like his name 恒9 which sounds like 恒久 (eternal). Hence, I believe that there will be happy ending for this couple. It will be interesting to see how they get together eventually despite their human/robot status.

    I like it that professor respects him and treat him well. He even gives him a room to rest. But professor is very naughty. He already starts having 🥵 thoughts with Ever 9 🤭

    also my man Chu Yi Ping was HUNGRYYYYYYYYY lmaooo met Mr 9 for a few hours and was already having fantasies when he got on his knees.
